5 out of 5 stars I Couldn't catch my breath   March 14, 2006

I had to tell you I finished your book. First off I wanna apologize for the earlier email, I was being overly emotional and sensitive, I hope you accept that and continue to read this. I thoroughly enjoyed it.I initially thought I wouldn't be able to get through it. The language was horrifying it seemed. It actually made me nervous to think that men could be actually viewing us this way and we not know it. That book was calling my name at night. I took some deep breaths and there i dove. Holding my breath the whole way(lol) I was not disappointed at all. OH MY GOD IS RIGHT KERRY! It was very intriguing along with being very hilarious, and Im not a book reader. It was also very well written although at times its like youre writing through your thoughts, which is an interesting writing style and sort of unique. But, if U don't flow with it well you can lose the feel of where youre going but you bring the reader right back to your original point, which I was really impressed with.
After reading this I felt a new respect and compassion for Bryan Terry and his life. I saw him more as a man than as just a sex object. My heart went out to him and what was done to him by Carolyn. But, its really interesting to me because my sister and I have had an interesting conversation about how men have a "fantasy" woman in their heads that they are looking for to marry. Its cute that his is Phylcia Rashad. But, its also interesting and very true to life that what we think we want (the fantasy) isnt really reality. Case in point.. she was a character on TV, a real wife comes with idiosyncrisies, issues, problems, baggage and sometimes game. This is something I've had to learn myself in a very different manner through my marriage. So, I somewhat identified with your story. I really enjoyed it, and will recommend it to others. I hope we can be cool now.You have made a fan out of me. Do forgive me for the rude emails?
I look forward to your next book. Good luck Kerry!.

Kerry Wagner is one of the most intriguing individuals I have ever met. I am not generally a book reader, but She did that not only captivated me, but it gave a thirst for more. I was addicted to it within the first few pages. Kerry's ability to paint you a picture of a "playa", and his uncanny way with words that gives you a feel of comfort and laughter make She did that very enjoyable to read. Even if you cannot identify with Bryan Terry or Carolyn you can feel every word that is written, and can apply it to your life and situations. Wagner is not only a great author but also a comedian, which seems to be effortless. His honesty about how men think and see women at times is enlightening as well as disheartening. I loved this book for its entertainment value and its "heart". Good Job Kerry Wagner and congrats youre on your way!!!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   March 11, 2006

I met Kerry a couple of weekends ago standing outside a club in H-town. I was very distraught and not trying to hear any talk about a book. He gently coaxed me into not only buying but reading his book and I am grateful that he did. I read the book in about 2 days and I am still in awe. His "in your face", "down to earth", "keep it real" style is what captivated me the most. I saw a small reflections of myself in Bryan Terry as well as every b*tch and hoe he encountered. This book is the truth!
This coming of age tale is one that I will never forget...I anxiously await the sequel.

5 out of 5 stars PROUD TO BE YOUR FRIEND!!   March 10, 2006

>I met Kerry several years ago. I was looking to buy a new car and
>he was a car salesman. Well, I didn't get a car from him, but I got
>something far more valuable...a friend for life.
>
>Even at the beginning, I had no idea our friendship would blossom
>into something so beautiful! At first we would see one another
>occasionally, never on a regular basis. We even lost touch for a little
>while. Eventually Kerry called me from an extended stay hotel. You know the
>ones that are like an efficiency apartment? He was staying a couple nights
>here and there, but mostly living out of his car, which I didn't know at the
>time. He asked me to come visit him. He wanted to show me something.
>
>When I arrived, Kerry handed me several tattered notebooks. You
>guessed it. It was his untitled manuscript. He wanted my opinion because I
>am an avid reader. I couldn't believe what I had in front of me. I had no
>idea that Kerry was so gifted! I was captivated and began to see Kerry in a
>whole new light.
>
>We kept in touch briefly after that. Then it seemed that Kerry
>disappeared from the face of the earth. I'd try to call the phone numbers I
>had on him only to find them out-of-service. I figured he'd get in touch
>with me eventually, my number hadn't changed.
>
>On October 7, 2005, I got an email from Kerry. He'd published his
>book! I couldn't believe it! We arranged to meet the next day. I had to
>get my autographed copy of "She Did That." I was so proud of him and happy
>to see that he was well. I took the book home and finished it in twelve
>hours! I was left speechless. My casual friend, Kerry was an author. But
>not just an author...he was talented and his style was one of a kind. I
>could hear his voice as I read every word of "She Did That." If you meet
>him, you'll know exactly what I mean....
>
>Today is March 9, 2006. Kerry and I are partners for life! We
>couldn't be closer. I still can't quite figure out how we got here. It just
>seems so natural... like it's always been this way, even though it hasn't.
>I feel protected in his presence...like as long as he's around, everything
>will be okay. I'm learning so much from him everyday. He's one of the
>smartest people I know and he didn't even graduate from high school. I'm
>continuously being impressed by his genius.
>
>We're alike in a lot of ways and it causes us to bump heads from time to
>time. But with my book smarts and his street hustle, we're taking the world
>by storm! There is NO ONE like him. He truly is charismatic, authentic,
>and you'll absolutely fall in love with him. He is Kerry E. Wagner.

All I can say is damn baby You make a sista want to come to Houston every All-Star weekend! YOU DID THAT Sure wish we could have been blessed with your presence a while longer? We had a
>hell of a time with you. Reading your book is not helping. Why am I

> reading this book and I feel you are reading this book to me and it is just
>like I am having passionate love with you in every steamy sex scene. Was that the plan for ladies all over the country to experience you through your writing. Or maybe because I had the pleasure of meeting you first hand. You are all over this book , your mannerisms , your tone , your aura(lol) I don't care what you say. YOU have at least etched your style in this.I have never experienced a writing style this unique and captivating. Not anything like it.
